Parakiore

Parakiore — formerly Metro Sports Facility — is Christchurch's premier recreational sports hub, home to swimming pools, community centres and high-performance training areas. WRS worked with suppliers from an early stage to develop a project-specific roofing and cladding design, entering contract with main contractor CPB Contractors to deliver it once final construction drawings were issued in 2020, during the Covid lockdown.

At its peak, WRS held a 25-strong crew on site across a five-year programme, installing over 25,000m² of insulated roof and wall panels, soffits, internal plant rooms and internal walls. The project was delivered defect-free, on time and under budget.
